Ultimamente ando mais virada para as agulhas. Há uns tecidos perdidos por casa e decidi fazer algo com eles. Nada de especial, até porque fazer tudo, tudinho, apenas com agulha, sem máquina de costura, custa!

Lately, I've been working mostly with needles. There are some fabrics lost in the house and I decided to do something with them. It's nothing special. Doing everything with needles only, without sewing machine, it's not easy!

Esta foi uma prenda especial para a Diana, a minha fã nº1 de Macau, no dia do seu aniversário. Ela ficou entusiasmada a ver e a participar na concepção de um colar, fazendo muitas perguntas. Claro que, no final, levou o colar para casa.

This was a special gift for Diana's birthday, my No. 1 fan in Macau. She was thrilled to watch and participate in the design of a necklace, asking many questions. Of course, in the end, she took the necklace home with her.

Na fotografia, um telemóvel desactualizado de mãos dadas com um telefone antigo!

Nowadays the first thing you may hear in the other side of the line is "Where are you?", but in the old times you just heard "How are you?". I still remember the sound of dialing the numbers in the old telephone...

O crochet passou de gerações em gerações, no entanto esta arte das agulhas tem-se vindo a perder, pois as nossas avós deixaram de ter tempo para ensinar as gerações mais novas. Eu tento aplicar os ensinamentos que outrora recebi, em algo que vá para além das peças tradicionais, como os “naperons”. O resultado são estas coloridas bonecas crochetadas à mão que têm deliciado crianças e adultos.

The crochet passed from generation to generation, yet this art of needles has been losing, because grannies have no time to teach the younger generations. I try to apply the knowledge I received into something that goes beyond the traditional pieces such as "doilies". The result are these colourful hand-crocheted dolls that have delighted children and adults.

A Little Sissi está agora fechada numa caixa em Macau. Ela decidiu ir até uma loja (na rua que liga a rua do Consulado de Portugal à Rua do Campo), escolheu uma caixa e agora teima em ficar lá, dentro das pequenas paredes, a vender as suas criações.

Little Sissi is now trapped in a box in Macao. She decided to go to a shop (a street nearby the Portuguese Consulate and Rua do Campo (Sui Hai Mei), chose a box and now insists on staying there, in between its tinny walls, to sell her creations.

Reutilizar / Reusing

Reciclar ou reutilizar é uma das minhas filosofias, por isso sempre que posso transformo alguns objectos em algo diferente. Por vezes, é apenas pelo prazer de ver algo novo a nascer. Neste caso, de uns individuais de mesa, surgiu um pequeno saco para uso pessoal. Recycling or reusing are some of my philosophies, so whenever I can I transform some objects into something different. Sometimes it's just for the pleasure of seeing something new emerging.In this case, from individual table cloth, came up a small bag for my personal use.
